- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I had my first appointment today with Dr. Chavez. I have been having problems with my knee lately, but that is certainly not the reason I made this appointment. I was considering using Dr. Chavez as my primary care and wanted to discuss important issues that are going on with me right now. He zeroed in on the knee and would not discuss anything further! I had to practically beg him to refill my ongoing prescriptions. I was told that I would have to come back separately for each issue I had going on. So how many appointments would I need to get accomplished what most doctors would normally do in one appointment? I felt like I was getting the bums rush and couldn't get a word in edge wise. I will be looking for another primary care doctor, one who will listen to what is going on and not make me come back for multiple appointments for things that could've been accomplished today!March 30, 2017by Joan Palmer
- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Unethical and dishonest. Dr. Chavez had the audacity to double bill me for a physical (wellness exam). The excuse given was the fact that I had made the mistake of going "off script" for 2 minutes to ask a question about an issue that I was having. In the end, Dr. Chavez billed me (through my insurance) for the wellness exam and a regular office visit, after I had been there for a total of maybe 20 minutes. This was very shady and unfair in my book. The fact that my insurance and the current laws in place actually allow a doctor to "double dip" like this does not mitigate Dr. Chavez's dishonesty or lack of ethics. In addition to all the above, I found Dr. Chavez to be not as knowledgeable as I might have expected a doctor to be - apparently more interested in generating revenue that taking care of his patients.
